My given name is Melanie Sioux. My Lakota name is Cancu Icigage, She Makes Her Own Way. I am Hunkpapa Sioux, an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
I am an avid hunter, philanthropist, educator, maker of art, story teller, wife and mother. The Modern Sioux incompases my passion for story telling through art in numerous forms.
